In The Works: One Homestead

 

Leasing now! ONE Homestead is part of a coordinated community revitalization effort with Allegheny County and the Borough of Homestead to produce new affordable apartments targeted for working individuals.

One Homestead consists of 18 new townhouse units in 4 separate buildings. This includes ten 3-bedroom and eight 2-bedroom units. We have also redeveloped an old post office building at the corner of 9th Avenue and Amity Street into 3 loft apartments, approximately 1,000 square feet of community space and a rental office. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we have included a 4-story 30 unit apartment building at the South 100 Block of 8th Avenue. The apartment building consists of 15 1-bedroom and 15 2-bedroom units with 6,080 square feet of ground floor commercial space.

It is the objective of our development team to be sensitive to the historic fabric of the existing buildings while adding new construction. Combining new and old design ideas into one project will have a substantial impact on the Borough and serve a broad population with affordable housing in a location that is both desirable and convenient.

Homestead is an established community with many nearby services including the Carnegie Library, which contains a public music hall and well equipped fitness facility with a large swimming pool. Amity Street has The Propel Charter Elementary School and Barrett Public Elementary School adjacent to the development site. The site can directly access the famous Waterfront Shopping-Entertainment District which has many large stores, restaurants, banks, grocers, movie theaters and other entertainment less than one-half mile away.
